please recommend a tutor for bexley

Post by megansdeep »

Can anyone recommend a good tutor in or around bexley for 11+ coaching. My DD is above average but I want her coached specifically for the exams.

She will sit the exam next year - both bexley and kent. Do people sit any other exams as well? e are in welling, not far from BGS.

I hope there are kind enough people here to help me out.

Many thanks.

Genuine recommendations by PM only (private message) are acceptable - but beware of the possibility that someone who appears to be offering a recommendation may have a vested interest! Please let us know if you think anyone is abusing the system by soliciting for business or 'spamming'. (It's easy to report a possible problem: just click on the 'report button' - the red exclamation mark.)

Always treat recommendations from unknown persons with caution. However, there are many long standing members (check the date of joining and number of posts) who make a valuable contribution to the forum. If you receive a recommendation from one of them, it could be worth considering seriously (while still exercising a degree of caution).

If you receive a recommendation from anyone else, please exercise extreme caution!

Megan - I used Kip McGrath for my 3 (who are all at grammar school). They're not wonderful by any means and most of what they do you could probably do yourself if you buy plenty practice books. However, advantages are -

kids work in small groups and end sessions with some wind down computer games - so it's not such an ordeal for them as working 1:1 with a tutor. This meant that mine made less fuss about going.

They do mock 11+ exams (usually use the nfer papers so make sure you don't give these to your child yourself before the mocks). This is useful for checking where your child is at and what they need to work on.

They're a useful source of information.

You're right to prepare your child for the 11+. Unless they're super bright they're not likely to pass without preparation.
