and

Deny

I am working on 'First Aid' revised edition and am adamant there are mistakes in there.

I'm not quite sure what you are asking, amandee?

Confirm and deny can be opposites: "I confirm that his story is true; I deny that his story is true."

Otherwise the opposite of "confirm" is probably "dispute", and the opposite of "deny" is "admit".

Does that help in any way? I don't have a copy of First Aid in English, so I am working in the dark!

i'm just trying to figure out what i was thinking about ...

confirm - unconfirmed
deny - ? can't remember now

in terms of confirm 'unconfirmed' is not the right choice because the tense has changed right?
