Slough VR & NVR Paper

Post by Sonia »

Hi All,

Best of luck to all the parents whom DD's and DS's have given the Slough Consortium paper today.

Please if they can share their experiences.

Also just wondering

1) Whether NVR & VR test is same in all the schools , or different papers are given in different schools?

2) NVR & VR test for out of area students will on Saturday 22, 2012 . Obviously it will not be the same as of today. How the difficulty level of tests is managed and how the scores are calculated keeping in view the difficulty levels of the papers?

Regards

Hi, The tests for out of county children will be the same, so any information given should be limited....thanks

I think all the Berks schools have NFER write their papers and they will be different....some will use 21 VR types and others will use all 35 type.....Level of difficulty is probably the same.

Hi Sonia,

Historically, The Slough Consortium schools each do the same tests. So Level and amount will not differ.
They also are the same papers for OOC tests. Hence the need to remain silent on these boards until all tests have been completed, before discussing specific question types.

Hi Sonia

1) The OOC candidates WILL sit the same test so it is important not to talk about the content.

2) You really can not go on how the children found the test, it really doesn't indicate anything at all. I have known plenty of children who have thought it was easy but 'failed' and conversely, many who thought they had done badly and passed well. If it was genuinely a relatively easy test then it will have been easy test for everyone, the same if it was a relatively hard test.

Time to breath out and relax.

Hi all,

Son sat his on Saturday.

He had done well in his preperation and had been steady all the way through. I am not sure what happened but he said he found the NVR very hard and actually did not answer all the questions leaving, by his estimations, 12 to 15 out all together.

We tried to keep him calm but I think nerves got the better of him on the day.

It is an anxiuos waiting game now and we have to see when the results are out.

Good luck to everyone else.
