CCHS

Post by inmystride »

I was wondering if anyone has any further information on how many places will be available at the Colchester Girl's Grammar for 2013 entrance? There was speculation that there would be 4 classes in Y7 rather than the current 3.

Their website still has the same admissions document and there hasn't been any announcement to say the number of places has increased. For all we know, the governing body could have met ages ago and decided against making a change. I can't help feeling that we would know by now if they were increasing the number of places. :(

I think the proposal was 5 classes (140 girls) instead of the current 4 classes (112 girls).

In the Essex County Council Secondary School Booklet for 2013 the published admission number is still showing as 112. I have no idea whether they can change this later though.

The only comment the receptionist made was that she didn't think there was room for any more students!!

Wonder if we can pressure them to impose a catchment area while they are at it?!?

They now have a new website and the admissions policy document no longer appears!

The new website was updated today and the admissions policy has been uploaded. It has now been amended to remove any reference to additional places being under consideration. Looks like it isn't going to happen. :(
