Pates: pupil premium: how do they know if a kid has it?

Post by ziggie »

Pates give automatic places to people who have achieved a score in top 180 on the test to those who qualify for Pupil Premium or who are in local authority care. However, they have minimal information on candidates from their application forms. How do they identify who is eligible for this preferential treatment once the test has been done?

I was wondering that - maybe there is a tick box on the CAF form?

I may be wrong here but I thought that the LEA allocated places based on the qualifying scores that Pates give them? The LEA would have the information re pupil premium etc.

that would be OK if there were no kids from outside the area applying for other LEAs

Just wondering what happens if a child becomes eligible for pupil premium after the CAF is submitted?
