Cambridge Pre-U courses

Post by tense »

I'd appreciate it if anyone could share their experiences of the Cambridge pre-U courses taken in place of A levels. I'd never even heard of these until this week when my DD & I went to a sixth form open evening that offered them in English & History. My DD is considering the English one.

Obviously I have had a little 'google' but not found much beyond the gloss :? Thanks.

I think I was at the same open evening. My DD is also considering the English one, but less keen on the syllabus of the History one.

I'm sure we were at the same open evening! :D

I just don't know if the pre-U is a worthwhile enough qualification to move schools for. So few places offer it, surely universities can't 'prefer' it to A levels?

(my DD loved WGGS but I'm worried about the possible disruption of changing schools unless really necessary - that's another topic I guess!).
