Would we be mad not to put chb at top of caf ?

Post by HappyRobot »

Ds has 245, so even if entry mark goes up 10 points he still has a good chance of getting into chb.....fingers crossed.
We r also considering kes Stratford...he is ranked 45
We are in Solihull.
We know dc with marks of 263 and 280 so would be ds be "bottom of the class"?
My ds doesn't have a preference.
The travel would be slightly shorter to chb.
I liked kes stratford more...gut feeling and so did my dh and my younger ds
But chb send more boys to Oxbridge and seems to be academically better and after a couple of years he could get the public bus and get home quicker.

What would you do or pls suggest other points to consider.

if you don't put CHB first on the lost, then you will not be given a place. Put the schools in the order you want them..

Thanks....I think he has a good chance of both so that's why I am finding it difficult to choose which to put first.
Any other things I should consider?

I would definitely go with your gut feeling. Where would your ds 'fit in better?' If it's KES-then go for that school.
All the best.

I had to chose between KECHB and KES Stratford, I too live in Solihull.

I rejected Stratford via list due to distance, lower position in perfoance tables, late finish due to extra curricular activities, general positive vibe of KECH. Headmaster pretty switched on too.

We've knocked distance off the list as if he takes either school bus it's 10 mins less to CHB as the bus to stratford is private and less stops....but thanks for the other considerations.

Did your ds not have an opinion about which one he liked best?

My gut feel plays a large part in decision making. We have not been disappointed to date! He has flourished on many areas and confidence is sky high. Good luck
