Garston to Croxley Green (Rickmansworth School)

Post by Confused as well »

Can any kind person out there give any advice on the available bus service from Garston area to Rickmansworth School.

I'm aware there is no specific school bus service but I'm struggling to find the best option. 320 seems to take about an hour - is there anything quicker?

321?

M thanks

The only DC I know who travels from North Watford to Ricky goes by bike.

Getting to Watford Jct will give more bus options. Traffic across Watford is horrendous - but presumably you know this!

School bus services for Herts schools can be found here:

Garston to Bushey Meads or Queens is feasible (look on website).
Are you doing this as an 'academic' exercise to fill your CAF? Presumably you are within the distance criterion for Parmiters?

Many thanks for the information.

Doesn't look like we have a decent enough score for Parmiters but we do for Ricky and Queens. Prefer Ricky as a school but it seems we will need to commit to drive both ways for 7+ years as there doesn't appear to be any reasonable bus links (an hour each way I think is too long).

Bit of a dilema and just 10 days to decision time!

Yes we preferred Ricky to Queens... didn't rank Queens, prefering Bushey Meads anyway. However, if I'd known that Arriva were going to cancel the bus service a year ago I probably wouldn't have bothered just because the traffic /parking on the Ricky Road is horrendous... and now DS can dash out of the door under his own steam at 8.25. Note that in a few years time, the tube will be extended from Croxley Green to Watford Jct, which might cut journey times down, at least from central Watford. Are other DCs from your DC's school going for Queens - I imagine the bus service might be quite sociable whereas a two-way commute with DM&D for 7 years might be a bit trying for both parties!

Tube route is not likely to be up and running until 2016!
