2012 Results Compilation Table (GL Assessment)

Here are this year's results, compiled from this website, which hopefully will be very useful and a help to parents. Note: when you read <180 it means not in the 180..it was difficult putting in a code that the formatting and space restrictions would allow. There was talk about adding in the birth months, but after comments from more senior board members, it seemed most felt it would confuse rather than help.

Thanks to PaterGloucester for the following synopsis which explains the marking system:

The top score you can get is around 140-141 and the lowest is around 70. The scores do not represent their actual marks but more how well they did relative to their peers, so a score of 119 puts you in the top 10% of those taking that exam for that school. A score of between 133-138 would be in the top 1%. They also are standardised against their age range peer group.

In short, because some parents only chose to put their children in for one or two schools rather than every school, the cohorts used to standardise the tests are actually different. Hence the difference between HSFG and Ribston marks for the same paper. The same applies for the boys' schools, and explains the apparent discrepancies when it comes to children achieving places in the Pate's 180.
