SCAF additional info box...

Hi all, can you put anything in the additional info box for the online application? I assume it's there for the medical / social / ethical reasons, but what about a comment stating a dc's interest in that particular school based on curriculum specialism etc or is it not taken into account?

What's it for? Is it only looked at in the case of an appeal? Ad therefore, if you qualify for a school on your list, do they simply ignore the additional info?

Sorry if a silly question, but it threw me when I saw it online!

I don't think many people put much in the box - I think it maybe for people who specifically want a school as it is single gender for example.

I suspect little notice is takne of the extra box unless it is something like wanting a single gender school etc

I believe it adds more weight in an appeal if you have filled it in with your reasons at the application stage although for the majority, I doubt it makes much difference in the initial round of allocations.

Its probably there for entertainment of the admissions staff!

I bet there are some funny things put in that box, parents are often nearing insanity by that stage of the process.
