Any one know in which year WGSB dropped the academic intake from 35% to 25%???

I think 2007 was the last year that 35% of places were allocated by academic selection.

Yes thats right those applying in 2007 for enty in September 2008 there was only a 25% academic intake. For all schools except Queens. Not sure why they were allowed to remain at 35%. Up to the late 90's these schools were taking allmost half on academic entry!

I'm pretty sure that Queens used to do a tier process like Bushey Meads does now ie, a percentage taken from top, middle and bottom of the academic results.

It's been illegal to introduce new selection since 1997, so if they switched from banding it must have been before that.
