Kendrick late test - Was it necessary and 'Required'?

Post by tiffinboys »

I have posed this question in Surrey region. As Kendrick is also said to be conducting late test, this is an issue for Berks parents too.

May be some of you could shed better light on this topic.

Very good question and I'd like to see the replies. I had no idea they were having one. Does anyone know how many girls sat the Kendrick late test?

Late test is january 11th.
I believe they have had a late test in previous years.

Thanks, Tinkers.

I think that tests in the previous years were after CAF date and the late tests were may be only for children sick on exam day or missed tests due to exceptional reasons.

Kendrick DAA had mentioned late tests and about late applications. So it is fair to say that they had published all the arrangements in time. The late applications are not considered until after first offers are made on 1st March and therefore, would have no bearing on the first allocation. :D

And I expect cut-off to be 112 or lower.

My estimation is as follows.

Last year, the cut-off score was 109, which would have meant 150 ranked candidate would have got place, even though last year Kendrick had open selection. This year, if preferences pattern had remained more or less the same as last year, the 150th candidate would be at score of 112. As also the admission criteria has changed, many of the scorers above 112 might not be eligible for admission in Kendrick.

Caution: Preferences could change drastically.

There seem to be a lot of OOC candidates in Reading, Berks & Bucks this year, I reckon they'll be a lot of parents willing to move into catchment areas to secure places....however this is easily said rather than done!
