Thanks purplegirl.

It is just the same as the other CEM familiarisation papers... the CEM certainly aren't giving anything away about additional content!

What do people think of the new 'Welcome Video' on the CCHS site?

Has it really been there for 2 years? Wow, I'd never spotted it before. Those girls must be year 9/10 now!

Thanks for that. As Araucanagirl says, doesn't tell us anything we didn't already know. The sample paper is the same the others. Oh well, we can only ask that our dd's do their best.

Just curious:
have the school stated what information will be supplied with the result, as the previous years "last place offered standardized score" is not going to be of any use is it?

Don't know exactly what form the result will be. The information sheet just states "Test results will be sent to parents from Tuesday 15 October 2013" and information evening is to be held on Wednesday 23 October 2013 – 2pm – 3pm.
There may be more info about how results will be presented at the open evening in the summer term.

However I think that the school should be able to produce a more precise rank order of who is applying for a place. The school should be able to tell the first 120 girls that they would be offered a place, and give an indication to those with lower scores an indication of where they are on the list and likely hood of being offered a place. Even if you don't make the first 120, its worth applying if you have a reasonable score as there will always be girls sitting the exam who want to go down the indie route and are using it for practice; and other girls will be using the new exam as a back up and are applying to the CSSE schools as first choice. (The csse had the great disadvantage of not knowing exactly what school people were applying to.)

I wonder if they will have a minimum score as they do for Birmingham? Will be really interesting to see what they send out with the results.
