Query about DCHS waitlist

Post by littlegirl »

Hi,
Need advice for admissions for DCHS Sept 2013....
1. Can anyone say what was the waitlist cutoff for DCHS last year?
2. When do they stop taking from the waitlist ?
3. Would a waitlist number eight stand a chance (we are out of catchment too ...)

Thanx

Hi littlegirl, and welcome!

Last year isn't really relevant because they are using a different distance measurement this year, but you can see the distances for this year and previous years here: http://www.elevenplusexams.co.uk/school ... n-profiles" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

In the second round of allocations on 19th April the distance increased from 6.497 miles to 7.593 miles, all within catchment.
2. When do they stop taking from the waitlist ?
Once the 11+ result expires, which is in the autumn term.
3. Would a waitlist number eight stand a chance (we are out of catchment too ...)
I am sorry to have to say that it is very unlikely. :(

As the school is always overscribed, is it possible for the 1st in the waiting list got a place ever?

Yes, of course, but it depends on whether that "1st place" is after the first round or subsequent rounds - the chances do, unfortunately, decrease as time goes on.
