Question about consultation

Post by tobyprice »

Does anyone know where the proposed changes to the admissions policies in Bucks were advertised last year? I just received this from a prospective school.

The admissions consultation process, as defined in the admissions code, does not require a meeting – only publication of the proposed policy which is available for parents to read and respond to. The new policy was published on our website and we alerted all concerned stakeholders to this consultation through an advert in the press.

As they say, all the schools put their draft Policies up on their websites.

and then they take them down again - I should write nursery rhymes!

I can't get the school to show me anything other than the policy itself, so I'm looking for the advert now.

Looking at another thread, a post on the Schoolsweb site has thrown a new twist on this.

The single change to the process for 2013 will be the replacement of Selection Appeals with a Selection Review process which will be undertaken by a panel of headteachers.

Did they not think that positioning the first independent appeal AFTER the allocations was a significant change?
