Kent test
I am new to the 11+ and still trying to understand the whole thing. I know Kent test included: verbal reasoning paper (50 minutes)
a non-verbal reasoning paper (40 minutes), maths paper (1 hour), a writing exercise (1hour).
Since the writing exercise is not marked and only is looked in the event of an appeal, Would you still let your DD/DS work on some exercises to brush up their writing skills? or just focus on those 3 papers? Since we don't have much time left.
Any help/advice gratefully received!

Re: Kent test
Short answer is no, my DCs did not do any preparation for the English essay part of the exam. TBH I did not even consider it!

My dc's didn't do much work for the writing. I think as long as they have a good idea of punctuation, using paragraphs, speech marks etc they should be fine. Hopefully I've posted a link to past topics. Maybe plan out a few stories using the above topics.

Re: Kent test
I wouldn't do much work now, but in the weeks preceeding, it's worth having a chat about having a sample story in dc head...think about a broad story that could be put under any heading and remember begining, middle and end...thats all we did!
