THE Royal Grammar School in High Wycombe has beaten all other state funded schools in the country for getting pupils into the top 13 universities, according to a new report.
Over the last five years, 81.9 per cent of pupils at the school in Amersham Hill have gained a place at the Sutton Trust 13 universities - a total of 388 pupils.
And the school finished fourth in the top 100 schools in the country, including independent and fee-paying schools.

The Sutton Trust 13 universities include Birmingham, Bristol, Cambridge, Durham, Edinburgh, Imperial College, London School of Economics, Nottingham, Oxford, St Andrews, University College London, Warwick and York.
The report, by the Sutton Trust, aims to document the extent to which selective schools dominate admissions at top universities .
Other Bucks schools featured in the report included Wycombe Abbey School, in Abbey Way, High Wycombe.
The all girls school saw 76.9 per cent of its pupils go to one of the 13 universities, or 269 pupils over the last five years.
Dr Challoner's Grammar School in Amersham achieved 44.4 per cent (18th); Dr Challoner's High School in Little Chalfont got 39.5 per cent (29th); Sir William Borlase's in Marlow got 34.1 per cent (45th); Beaconsfield High School achieved 28.3 per cent (69th) and Wycombe High got 32.5 per cent (52nd).

I think you will find that the rates given refer to HIT rates not the percentage of pupils gaining places.
For eg: ST universities :
RGS - Hit rate 61% - 388 pupils in 5 years
DCGS -Hit rate 44% - 362 pupils in 5 years
Oxbridge admissions:
RGS - Hit rate 27% - 102 pupils in 5 years
DCGS - Hit rate 12% - 103 pupils in 5 years
An interesting comparison as both schools have same admission numbers. It depends how the figures are interpreted.
