A level results for Stratford Grammars?

Post by JamesDean »

Does anyone have any information on the A level results from the Stratford Grammars' this year? All the schools around here have released theirs to the local press, and AGS have theirs on their website, but I can't find anything for KES or Shottery ....

Are they just coy, or should I be rethinking???

Thanks Okanagan - they don't give much away, do they!

I was impressed at the open morning that the Head showed a progress graph from their RaiseOnline data - never seen a school do that before! So would like to see a bit more data now while deciding on schools for DS ...

From Coventry Evening Telegraph:
* At Stratford Girls’ Grammar School 78.3% of all Year 11 GCSE grades were A*/A

92% of all girls in Year 11 achieved 5 or more A*-A grades. Kate Barnett, Headteacher at SGGS, said: “The students should be extremely impressed with their GCSE results this year, and we are delighted that so many of them have achieved the results they needed to continue their studies at A-level.’’

* At King Edward VI School, Stratford 81% of GCSE papers were graded A* or A, marking an increase of over 20 per cent in the last five years, with 38 students achieving at least 10 A* and A grades.

* At Lawrence Sheriff School in Rugby all pupils got five or more A*-C grades. 70 per cent achieved A*-A in English, maths and science.- Two students achieved ten A* grades

* Charlotte Marten, the Headmistress of Rugby High School was also delighted with her school’s achievements. Nearly 75% of the girls were awarded A*s or As and five students received 10 or more A* in their exams.

* At Ashlawn School in Rugby 90 per cent of students achieved five or more A*-C grades,

77 per cent of students achieved five or more A*-C grades, including maths and English and 32 per cent of students achieved three or more A*-A grades

And re A levels...

Every single student at RUGBY HIGH SCHOOL FOR GIRLS passed all of the A levels they sat.

The average points score per student was 374 UCAS points (the equivalent of more than 3 A grades each at A-level).

Sarah Davies was one of three students who achieved 4A*s each and also one of nine students who have been offered a place at Oxford or Cambridge universities.

Headteacher Charlotte Marten said: “It is exciting to think of the great range of paths that these students are planning to follow.”

At KING EDWARD VI SCHOOL in Stratford, a record 82.3 per cent of papers were graded A*- B with 23 students obtaining three A grades or better.

The stand-out performance was by Callum Hughes who obtained a remarkable 6 A* grades to take up a place to study Mathematics at Balliol College, Oxford.

He will be joined at Oxford by Henry Hodson studying classics and French at Merton College, Philip James-Pemberton studying chemistry at Trinity College and Fergus Mullineux studying engineering at Balliol College. Headmaster Bennet Carr said “We should not lose sight of the fact that the statistics simply represent the collective hard work and dedication of individual students supported by their teachers and families.”

LAWRENCE SHERIFF SCHOOL, in Rugby, also enjoyed 100 per cent success, with 70 per cent A*-B grades and a quarter of pupils gaining at least one top grade.

Rob Fletcher and James Roberts achieved 5 A* grades.

Headteacher Dr Peter Kent said: “This outstanding performance points to a huge amount of hard work on the part of both students and staff.

“Since students join our sixth form from across Rugby, these results represent an outstanding achievement that the whole town can be proud of.”

From Redditch & Alcester Advertiser:

Alcester Grammar, which is still waiting for the results of its French GCSE students, saw 21 of its 91 GCSE students get A* and A grades across the board, with all but one student achieving five A*-C grades including English and maths.

Head teacher Iain Blaikie said: “Congratulations to our outstanding students who have achieved terrific grades in spite of national changes in syllabuses and measures. Many of our candidates sat up to 11 subjects and to gain so many consistently brilliant results is a testament to their application and aptitudes. I am also hugely grateful to our dedicated staff and supportive parents. What a strong year. We look forward to an impressive sixth form next month.”

Their website now says the French results have been received, but nothing more.
