Classical Civilisation
Any thoughts anyone ?
My son is considering his choices (intention is to study Medicine). He is thinking of Maths, Chem, Biol and potentially Music and/or Classical Civilisation.
I am not getting involved till nearer the time (he has only started y11) but do not want to let him make a decision that might impact his chances later on so researching away in the background.
I think 5 AS is too much and wouldn't want CC instead of Music, but then again, what do I know
He has only recently moved away from Further Maths as an option, and is now considering moving schools for 6th form so his plan of doing RE A2 in Y12&13 is off ( he will have the AS by the end of y11, but the other school doesn't do the same RE course so he wont be able to continue)
Thanks for any advice

Re: Classical Civilisation
CC was always considered a 'soft' option at the comprehensive where I worked so do check it will be counted.

It's not clear - but surely as a 5th choice that can't be a problem.

Re: Classical Civilisation
Thanks Herman - that's great
Yes G55 - but with no General Studies or Critical Thinking to be doing , it's probably no different than 4 As plus one of those.
I was wondering if people had any experience of it ?
Thanks.

Re: Classical Civilisation
My eldest is doing it, as 1 of 4 AS's, and may carry on with it to A2. Her super selective grammar school don't seem to have any qualms about it not 'counting' But then she's not at all interested in medicine.
Two weeks in and she's really enjoying it.

Don't understand this? Is it referring to the Trinity list? Because Classical Civ is listed as an A there.Guest55 wrote:Better to aim for 4 grade As at AS ...
Re: Classical Civilisation
I posted simultaneously - 4 AS levels is enough to do now there are no January modules.
