Second round - Wilson, Sutton & Wallington

Post by parent2013 »

To the parents of lucky 798 children who also cleared the first round- can you please update on the format for second round?

I know it is English & Maths. But what is it in English - is it comprehension and creative writing? Are these exams for 1 hr each? How many Q?

No replies yet, probably because this is more or less new arrangements. I am sure that you would soon be able to tell that for the benefit of all the forum members.

Thanks for starting this thread parent2013 as I wondered this myself. It would appear based on the surprising format of the English first round that the schools are attempting to tutor proof the tests. Whether it's possible I don't know... Just more variables to worry over.

How good is Wallington school compared to Wilson?? Any thoughts?

Just received an email from Wallington school for the second round. Below are the details of the format.

The order of the exam session will be;

· English Writing (25mins)

· Break

· Maths (40mins)

Parent2013-

exactly the same time.
I think they might ask the creative writing with black pen.
Even in St.olaves they specifically asked for creative writing to be with pen and not pencil.

We are planning to write the 2nd round of WCGS on 4th Oct and the Wilson's on the 9th of October. DS is also planning to try for Tiffin which I was presuming to be on the 8th of Oct but today have received a mail to say it's to be held on the 9th which has come as a bit of a surprise. Is anyone else facing this clash and if so, what do you suggest we do? :?
