Colyton Results

Post by Washing »

Is it just me or has anyone else been refreshing their emails all day in case the results came out early? :D

Don't know how people used to wait until March!

We're waiting too. I can't believe how soon the results are out. Dd has taken several 11+ tests and Colyton (which she really wants) will be the first result out. She is even taking another test tomorrow, so that's taking our mind off it a bit.

Wow....are you really getting your results this quickly to inform you whether you have your choice of school? It was a nightmare last year waiting until march to know if DD was in or out....Luckily we were offered our first choice and I hope you all will be too. Good luck :D

my son is in Category B.

Category A: 66
Category B: 70

A+B=136 ,but they offer 120 ,

what should I do?the school can tell us the definite rank ?

I would expect that not all children in Cat A would take up their place anyway so it looks like Cat B children are in with a really good chance this year.

But why not phone up the school- I heard from another mother that her friend did this last year and was told either the exact or approximate rank (she was a bit vague).

Out of interest how many were in Category C this year?

I wonder if they will need to take any from Cat C?

My daughter is in category A. We're very pleased.

There were 240 in cat C.

My daughter is also in Category A. We are so very very relieved. It seemed very much more stressful this time round than it did with her sister.

The email states clearly that they will not provide any more information than is contained therein. They are also very clear that they won't take any from Cat C and those children won't be placed on the waiting list.

I doubt that many Cat A kids will fail to take up their place. Where else would they go? However some of the Cat B kids may qualify for e.g. the Torquay grammars, or may choose to take up bursary places at one of the posh schools. I think if I was a cat B parent this evening I'd be feeling a lot happier than I would have been feeling had I been a cat B parent last year, if you see what I mean.
