school run from chelmsford to colchester royal grammer
hi all,
We live near chelmsford and planning to send our DS to colchester royal grammer in 2014. We are looking at school run options from chelmsford to colchester. I spoke to chelmsford taxibus on 01245 350350 and they told me that it takes about 1 hour 35 mins from chelmsford to colchester royal as the bus stops all the way picking up kids. that's a long journey for our DS. Does anyone know if any of the private hires do a direct chelmsford to colchester ? I am not keen on public transport.

Hi Essex2014,
Try the CSSE website and the transport link which will show you some First Bus and Stephensons routes with times and costs.
Well done to your DS,
djy

There is no harm to put KEGS first and CRGS second on the CAF!essex_2014 wrote:thanks djy, will have a look.

Hi essex 2014
Also considering Colchester for DS if he does not get into KEGS.
Also concerned re bus service.
Would be interested in joining other parents to do school run/ organising privet hire maybe.
Also would consider train as good train service and easy walk from Colchester to school.

I personnally would not describe North Hill as an easy walk! I practically have an asthma attack everytime I get to the top

I reckon it must be 25-30 minute walk from North Station to CRGS - that's an hour of walking a day, on top of the train journey.Minesatea wrote:I personnally would not describe North Hill as an easy walk! I practically have an asthma attack everytime I get to the top
