Raw Scores 2013
I have received my ds's raw scores. He is a July baby and his scores are similar to what he was scoring on the GL papers. With Non verbal he said that a certain type which he finds difficult were not in the exam so he was sure he did well in it and the others.
Verbal reasoning 74/80 (93%) - standardised score 141
Non verbal reasoning 61/72 (85%) - standardised score 141
Maths 44/50 (88%) - standardised score 141

Re: Raw Scores 2013
Who did you email to get the scores? Thanks
Re: Raw Scores 2013
Hi Metinsolo
will you be kind enough to tell us how you go your DS raw score? Through the school or via KCC and which email address you used.
Thanks a lot

Hi twinkles and akua26
I emailed KCC (kent.admissions@kent.gov.uk) yesterday and they emailed me today at about 1pm with the raw scores. Hope that helps.

Well done to your son!
I was thinking that we should build a table with raw scores according to the children's ages to help 2014 parents. I know these are your son's scores, but do you know the minimum score a child would have needed to get 141 on the tests? I have asked about my child's age minimum score, but haven't got an answer yet. I will post the values here when I get them.
Re: Raw Scores 2013
I got my DS raw scores from kcc today. He was 10 years 7months at the time of the test.
He scored
VR 74/80. Standardised 141
NVR 52/72 standardised 137
Maths 40/50 standardised 138
According to this forum the minimum scores needed in previous years to get 141 for an 11 year old were
VR: 63 out of 80 (2010), 62 out of 80 (2011) and 64 out of 80 (2012 – max score 141)
NVR: 50 out of 72 (2010), 53 out of 72 (2011) and 51 out of 72 (2012 – max score 141)
Maths: 40 out of 50 (2010), 39 out of 50 (2011) and 39 out of 50 (2012 – max score 141)
So my conclusion is that more children got higher raw scores this year to push this up the minimum raw score needed for a standardised score of 141. I have also asked KCC for this info and will post if I get a reply. More and more out of county children are taking the test so it's getting harder and harder to get the top scores.
According to information I've read elsewhere, the minimum score needed to gain entry to Dartford Grammar last year was 418.
Hope this helps for parents this year and future years.

My son was 10 years 7 months too. I asked about 2012 minimum raw scores (for 141) and they were as follows:Nwkparent wrote:I got my DS raw scores from kcc today. He was 10 years 7months at the time of the test.

Re: Raw Scores 2013
My DS 10 years 0 months got
Verbal 65/80 141
Non Verbal 43/72 127
Maths 29/50 124
Very slightly less than the GL practice papers we did but in the order I knew they would be. For me they were a good predictor of performance on the day.
I hope this info helps as I found it reassuring that top scores were not needed to pass.
