Sutton Grammar School or Wilson's?
Hi people. My DS has passed Wison's and would be sitting the Sutton test too. Need advice on both schools. Any thoughts?

Any specific question about these schools?
Re: Sutton Grammar School or Wilson's?
Where out of the two will I get a well rounded environment...I know academically, both will be good. But what about activities like debating, drama, public speaking, music etc.?
Also, is Wilson's more pushy and stressful? I get an impression it is.

My last impression was that both are outstanding school, academically. Both are good with respect to sports and other activities. Wilson's has advantage of having a large ground on site. Sutton Grammar's sports field is off-site. If your DS is interested in music, Wilson's I believe is quite strong in it as well. Both schools are more or less equally laid back or pushy, depends which way you like to look at it.
Also consider journey times and choose which ever school has easier journey.

Wilson's seem to be higher on league tables. I generally have another question on Grammar School products in general. Are they as smart, suave, sophisticated as private school pass outs? Do they 'speak' as well?

They all are smart kids.nups19 wrote: Are they as smart, suave, sophisticated as private school pass outs? Do they 'speak' as well?
How do they speak.? Well, depends which back ground they are coming from. If Queen's English is spoken at home or in the circle they move, then it fair to assume that these kids will speak like Etonians, even at local comp.
However, it is better that some current parent give you more advise on this point.

Thanks!!!

One last question. Are most grammars dominated by Asians? I am looking for a balanced mix of various cultures and not just one culture. Any thoughts on that?

Did you not visit these schools on their Open day?
This point also should be answered by parents of children in this school.

SGS is pretty mixed culturally - DS enjoys a balanced school life and extracurricular activities, at Y8 it's not too academic yet although the boys there are all bright and are expected to do well.
Can't comment on Wilson's though.
