St Clement Danes vs Rickmansworth

Post by parens »

Does anyone have any experience of both St Clement Danes and Rickmansworth School? I'm finding it hard to choose one above the other! Thx.

My take on the two schools when applying last year was that they were both very good. I preferred CLD on feel, academic achievement, buildings, grounds etc. However we put Rickmansworth above CLD purely on location as we felt that there wasn't enough of a difference to warrant the extra travel. We didn't end up at either school as they were our second and third choices so don't have direct experience of either. I do know kids at both schools that are happy and doing well. Which did you get a better feel for when you looked round and is one easier to get to than the other?

I also had a dilemma on which to put higher on CAF. Didn't get to the open day at SCD but very impressed with their academic achievements and general ethos and rules. Our DD loved Ricky's , especially the drama facilities. I think you would have to decide on your locality and travel time.

Thanks for your replies. We too did not get a chance to visit SCD and the school is further away to us than Rickmansworth. Historically, had always thought Ricky was stronger academically but SCD results look better over the last few years. I suppose just wanted any feedback to see if the schools truly are comparable?
