London Girls School Consortium

Has anyone any information on how this works? I know that a group of schools eg City of London Girls School, North London Collegiate etc, are part of the consortium. Do you have to rank schools in order of preference and does this then affect the chances of getting in?

I've searched the Internet but can't find any info and the schools' websites just talk about the entrance exam as if you were only applying to their school.

Any advice/information much appreciated!
