WGS results 2013

Post by Wolves mum »

Just in case anyone didn't know, the results will be posted on 6th December.
DS doesn't think he has secured a scholarship (he didn't do ANY prep  )

Not expecting a scholarship here either but hoping for an offer. No prep here either, or not any that you'd notice. My boy told me there were ten groups of children taking the exam and there were only twelve in his group. Does that mean that there were only 120 applicants for the 90 or so places?

There were hundreds of children there on the day so I think the number must be higher. However I expect a lot were there for a scholarship and won't take a fee paying place. The children in year 6 at the school have automatically got a place in the seniors without sitting the exam.

They normally have two sittings.

It is easier to get offered a place than you might imagine. The £12000 fees tends to put many off

It would be much better if they did the test the week after the KE exam for many. This year I didn't put ds2 through the exam as neither of us could summon any enthusiasm to start preparing for it. And whilst it is a good school it isn't in my opinion worth paying the fees when compared to the free ones available.

If we are fortunate enough to be offered a significant scholarship, then we would.

Results are posted this evening. :D
I wonder what happens to scholarship children, do they need to sit an interview prior to being offered a scholarship?

Fingers crossed and I hope people get the results they need.

Well we got our letter. No scholarship. No actual result either, just stated good score overall and would be suitable for school see you in Yr7!! A bit presumptuous as we will be going to Adams!
