Not typical VR questions-Help please
Hi all
I have some interesting Reasoning Q's you may want to try with your children:
How do I answer the following?
Q1 The snores in the living room are coming from a sleeping lion. Why is it safe for Emma to go in and watch television?
Q2 Emma almost stopped Maria falling over the cliff, but she almost fell over herself. Since then, which of them has been campaigning for a fence along the clifftop?
Q3 Mother used a half pot of jam for making sandwiches. The dog ate half a pot of jam. mother still has half a pot of jam, but she is not happy:why not?
Enjoy! But please let me know answers
Thanks

Emma, because she didn't manage to stop Maria falling over the cliff.Q2 Emma almost stopped Maria falling over the cliff, but she almost fell over herself. Since then, which of them has been campaigning for a fence along the clifftop?
The dog ate the sandwiches and therefore the first half pot of jam.Q3 Mother used a half pot of jam for making sandwiches. The dog ate half a pot of jam. mother still has half a pot of jam, but she is not happy:why not?

Excellent answer, JD!
These are better known as "lateral thinking problems" and they did the rounds many years ago in the pub when I was a teen.
They turn up in Common Entrance Exams, and also used to turn up occasionally in Oxbridge interviews.

Re: Not typical VR questions-Help please
The thing with these puzzles is that reading them they are relatively simple (except number 7, which in my fernickety brain is simply wrong) but when people ask me this sort of question verbally I just stand and gawp, or at best jibber, and then once I have turned it into a visual, read it in my mind and got the answer, the conversation has moved on!
Have I just admitted to being dim
