Looks like a printing error! The last number should read 24 - then it makes sense.

I'm definitely no maths guru but it might be - multiply each number by 2 and add 2 (doesn't work for the 1 though) - 2x2 +2 =6; 6x2 +2 = 14. The last one if this dodgy theory is right should be 30.

Its probably wrong but thought i'd give it a shot anyway in case it wasn't a typo.

I think it might be 1x6=6, 2x7=14,6x8=48?? So the answer is 48

Do you know the answer?

There seem to be a few possible solutions like those mentioned but none of them seem to work for all the terms of the sequence (particularly the '1') so I'm inclined to agree that it might be a misprint... :?

Don't worry silverysea, you're not thick! It's stumped us all! :D

My ds had me going for ages with one like this ...it transpired the 1. Was the question number, and yes I did beat him round the head with his exercise book.

Just had another look at this and have seen another possibility.

1,2,6,14,27
1, 4, 8,13,
3, 4, 5

(Differences between terms are written underneath)

Could you please post the answer? My best guess is 30?
