Colchester CHS PAN 2014

Post by Stressed79 »

Hi there,
Have never posted before, but just wondering if any body has heard anything at all about the likelihood of a drop in score due to the extra 28 spaces this year. I know that the CSSE guidance states 329 is minimum for the last few years... But am sure that there must be some sort of drop in this with 28 new spaces.
What do you think?

An extra 28 places will certainly mean a lower cut off score. I predict about 325, but of course it is all guess work until March 3rd.

It is great news that more places are available. My son benefitted last year from the 8 extra places made available at KEGS. The 28 extra places will also have a knock-on effect for the Southend schools as girls that may have previously taken a Westcliff/Southend place may take a ColCHS place, thus releasing an o/c Southend school place and moving the cut off lower.

Whatever happens, it's good news for girls in the county. :D

PS. Welcome to the forum stressed79... Hopefully not stressed for too much longer!
