St. Bernard's review

Hi There,

I would like known review from parent who's either son or daughter going to St Bernard's school, as specially non catholic. Is your son or daughter get less attentions compare ro catholic kids? How are teachers there?

Also like to known what are the chances for getting into St.Bernard with score 114 for non catholic kid?

Not a parent, but know parents of children at the school. Absolutely no difference in how children are treated.... if you get in then you are part of the school.
Can't say what your chances are as it depends on how many other children meet a higher criteria than you.

I believe St Bernards still give offers to anyone who achieves 111 or over, based on their criteria. Therefore you have as much chance as a child who achieved 120 in the test. They do not offer on score it is by criteria and then 'distance within criteria'. Without knowing how many children applied within each criteria it is impossible to speculate.

Let's see what happen's in 2 weeks time. If we survive strom this weekend.

Priority is still given to Catholic children as set out in the Admission criteria. It is a Catholic school and children will be expected to play a full part in the Catholupic life of the school.

Definitely no mention of this in their published admissions criteria

One might surmise that a child with a score of 107 might get in at appeal, however and that said child would almost certainly be RC?

May be we got wrong information about 107 mark for the student who are catholic.

Do you know what is specialisation of st bernards eg. maths , science, IT etc.

Try their website? Schools don't really have specialisms these days as they don't get extra money like they used to (I don't think).

They used to be very good in the Humanities..... but couldn't say now..... it might help if you have a look at their pass rates at GCSE.
