Bond 10-11 book 1 q 24

Post by fatbananas »

I had thought the answer to this was a, but the answer page says c. I've looked at dots, shaded, empty and dark squares and tried to get the same number in my answer (which I thought I had) and I've tried to copy this pattern from the example given. I just don't understand why it's c! Can someone help me please? PLEASE? :x

Hi FB :)

I assume this is test 1 of the assessment papers.

If you look at the lines in the shading; A,B,D & E all have the lines sloping towards the left, whereas C has them sloping to the right.

Hope that eases the frustration.

Thanks for replying Frangipani :D

My NVR addled brain didn't even think to note down which paper I was looking at! In fact, it's 10-11, Book 1 assessment papers, but Paper 5, Question 24. I've looked at it again just now and I STILL cannot get it. :?

Ok, the black squares swap places with the dotted squares and the lined squares swap places with the white ones :D

 Frangipani, I could kiss you!

I've never heard of a swapping over option before. So as well as number, shape, shading, rotation, mirroring etc they can swap? Is there anything else we should be looking for?
