Ranking

Post by Sunshine 11 »

As scores now become irrelevant for 2015 entry I just wondered what the ranking cut off was for each school this year ?

Do you know what rankings they would be though. Isn't that scores ? Scores are no longer being given to parents. Thanks for info though. :)

Not all schools currently rank. Ribston and HSFG don't.
Also depends who you opt to "share" with so pretty irrelevant!

Don' think Tommies or Crypt do either - only Pates and the Stroud ones issue rankings I believe. When DS sat the test a couple of years ago we got told he was in top 120 for Marling but no further details - I think it's top 120 and then ranks given below that, and same for Pates (top 120 or rankings below up to 140 then, 180 now). This will change, I understand, next year.

I believe if below top 120 but above qualifying score, parents were able to phone to know their ranking, so some will know :)

This is how it was up until this year. This year SHS and Marling gave score not rank. People could phone the school to get their rank. Presumably they will be reverting to rank again next year.

It has just occurred to me that they may be trying to discourage people from ticking all the boxes. People wanting the Stroud schools would tick all the boxes so that they had a better idea of where their child stood, even though they had no intention of sending their children to, say, HSFG if they were likely to get in to SHS.
