Wow. Hate those dog owners, letting dog run loose and giving all dog owners a bad name.

Oh I saw this too on the BBC. I found it astonishing that a dog that malevolent could be allowed to just wander about freely. There is an update on the website today with an interview with the boy's family who are still incredulous about the whole thing. The film shows the teeth marks on the boy's leg, which makes you realise how lucky he was that the cat did what it did. The dog has been taken away by the authorities and will probably be put down. The cat has been elevated to superhero status. Cats 1 dogs 0...

Cats rock - I am unashamedly a cat person, who reluctantly became a dog owner at the end of last year. The cat and I now sigh together at the dogs endless enthusiasm for EVERYTHING and fail to understand why she eats everything she likes (toys, bed etc!)

An oldie but it still makes me smile ... http://www.goodeatsfanpage.com/humor/ot ... _diary.htm

We had a cat like that once, she could be upstairs asleep, but if she heard any kind of distress cry, from either the silly softie male cat being attacked by another, or me being attacked by dh...play fighting in our energetic youth, she would bomb out of the house and leap on the offender before they knew what hit it. I love the way the boy gets up and looks for his cat immediately, regardless of his obvious pain and fear, they clearly share a lovely close bond. Scary how the dog had obviously gone into hunter mode, almost stalking the boy before attacking, not the usual moment of pet dog madness that results in nips and bites of children.
