BHS Headteacher Annette France moving on?

Post by drummer »

Anyone else aware of this?

Apparently she is the "Principal Designate" of Cheshire Free School

She's only been at the school two years or so.

I trust parents at BHS were told this before it was posted on the new school's website ...

Would have been good to hear it directly from her!!

The new school is going to be in Chester - but they don't seem to have a site yet!

It's not the 'done thing' for parents of the current school not to be the first to know; especilaly as she is so recently appointed after a long interregnum.

Yes. Seems a bit poor doesn't it, especially after the disastrous handling by BHS of previous HT appointments.

I can understand why they might have preferred to keep things secret but given that the other school decided to publicise their appointment in this way, then the right and smart thing to do would have been to communicate with parents as early as possible.

The secrecy only makes you wonder why she is moving on so soon and question the Governing body's motives. Doesn't encourage one to trust their judgement.

It is a great shame.

It would have been the Board of Governors' decision how/when to communicate with parents

I have a dd in year 9 too. Absolutely no idea this was happening. What a shock. I guess if this is true then she will be gone in a few short weeks as she will be, I presume needed at the new school in September.
Doesn't leave much time for a competent replacement to be found though. What a shame :|

Dd in Year 8 and a complete surprise to us too.
On Cheshire Free Schools FAQs they say they aim to be open September 2016 so perhaps she's not rushing off just yet.
Such a shame for Becky High but having read her profile I can see why they wanted her.
Fingers crossed for a strong replacement.

Reading her back history she is not a stay putter. Although she did supposedly leave the last school in chipping campden to be nearer to family in bucks, so Cheshire?

From the looks of it she has always had a tendency to specialise in either children that are really struggling or the very highest level academics, so this free school, top drawer, stem, sixth form school, looks very appropriate for her true leanings.

Not great for Becky high though, I wonder who they will entice?
