Post by rattle »

Hi,

Would like to know if anyone is travelling from earley, lower earley area to John Hampden Grammar in Wycombe. My son's been offered a place to start this sept.

I don't think the trains go across unfortunately, just up.

As others gave said it's a horrid journey! I imagine well over an hour each way. You could go up the m4 then down the a404 but that is regularly v badly snarled from Marlow to handy cross or through Henley I guess but the traffic coming that way is dire! (I work in Henley and lots of colleagues come in from Reading and I know they have terrible journeys). From Henley you'd need to allow another 30 / 40 mins to get up to Handy Cross.

JHGS us a fantastic school but that's a terrible journey and would be should destroying to do for 7 years! I'd deffo look at moving house!

There's the 800/850 bus service between Reading and Wycombe, but it's a horribly long journey.
DH did the same commute by car for a year for work and got fed up. We finally moved to Wycombe last year. It's definitely not a journey for a 11 year old.
