12+ appeal
Hi Sally Anne Etienne just received appeal papers for DD were appealing for SHF and AHS do you know when forms have to be returned by ? Also what reasons should we put down or how di we complete the form she quified for both do academic evidence etc isn't an issue or us it?
Re: 12+ appeal
You normally have 20 school days from the date you were notified that there are no places available.
It would probably help them to get the appeals organised if you return the form as soon as possible, though.
You don't have to state your case at the moment - you could just write "Details of case to follow".
I agree that there's no need to prove academic ability.
For typical reasons, see:

Re: 12+ appeal
Hi Sally Anne , Etinne just want to ask if attendance at stage 1 of appeal is compulsory ? We have appealed for bother AGS and SHF but stage 1 for appeals is on the same day at the same time... Unless I clone myself I can't attend both! What do you suggest ? Will the IAP send me details if stage one if u ask also Ags stage 2 is the next day will that be enough time for them to send me the info .? Any advice will be much appreciated
Re: 12+ appeal
Although it's a good idea to be present for stage 1 if possible, it is optional.
I'm a bit doubtful that you could be sent information.
I think your best course of action is to ring up the Appeals Manager (which you need to do anyway to let them know you can't attend). Ask if there's any way round the problem. We have heard on here of a 'mini stage 1' at stage 2, when someone has genuinely been unable to get to stage 1 and has contacted the office in advance to express their concern.

Re: 12+ appeal
Hi have received papers for appeal could anyone shed any light on how information is useful for the appeal? Also what kind of questions they are likely to ask? What should be my opening statement ? I'm struggling with what to say at the appeal .. Is it similar to 11 + ?

Re: 12+ appeal
Hi Etienne I've looked at reasons for wanting school place I'm afraid our case may not be very strong as DD wants to go to an all girls school and also be with her friends . My preference is based in fact I think gis preform better academically in single sex schools and I also attended an all girls school . Also school used to have sciences
Specialism which is her favourite subject .
As far as school case goes in my appeal hearing how can I use it to suggest no predijuce by admitting an extra child

Re: 12+ appeal
Possible questions might be about your reasons for wanting a single-sex school
http://www.elevenplusexams.co.uk/appeal ... school#c36" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
and whether there is evidence of high ability in science, or of any extra-curricular interest in the subject (science club? visits to science museum? future career plans?).
Is there any particular reason she needs to be with her friends? How has she settled at her current school? Hasn't she made new friends?

(If this is a group hearing, don't worry, as there will be other people asking questions.)

Re: 12+ appeal
Hi I have recurred my papers for appeals have found that Bucks admissions have attached my appeal papers for SHF to AHS papers what action if any is open to me? I'm worried AHS having seen the appeal paers for the other school may refuse the appeal as they may think were not really serious about application to AHS.
Also in answer to your previous questions re interest in science Dd is interested in career in medicine . She has attended after school science club at middle school also as part of gifted and talented group she attended local secondary after school fir their 'university ' classes . These were classes for able kids in science .

Re: 12+ appeal
It is SHF that has science specialism ... not AHS.
Why did you appeal for a school you don't want?
