Broken thumb

Post by redcap58 »

Does anyone know the procedure regarding the test and broken bones. My son has broken his thumb today and will be in a cast for 4-8 weeks. Also, are allowances made for a weak hand, if he were to have his plaster off before test day; he has broken his thumb on his writing hand. Many thanks.

You haven't said which school, but I'd suggest you contact them directly and ask them.

I know of two students who broke their hand during the exams. You need to contact the school and they will allocate your dc a scribe. They will dictate their answers to them and they will write them down. DG

Gosh, those Herts exams must be tough if kids are breaking bones during them. :D

Sympathies with the break. We are veterans here, I think one of mine is going for some kind of record :( .

DD broke her finger a few weeks before the 11+. We had it recorded in case she needed the evidence. It did slow her down slightly and she was in pain during the exam. I gave her paracetamol before the tests.
