Phew chewing gum

Post by moved »

DD came home yesterday with her new skirt, jacket, shoes, tights, school bag and flute case covered in chewing gum. She was extremely cross as it was all over the school bus.

We put the whole lot in the freezer and then I scraped it off with a knife, but there was quite a lot left. I thought everything would have been ruined and the skirt and jacket were new at the beginning of term.

To my amazement, the skirt, jacket and tights came out of the washing machine (delicate wash but 40 degrees) without the offending substance.

Sticky stuff remover from Lakeland is supposed to be good for this. Glad it came off.

Not much good for clothes, as I suspect it would leave an oil stain, but peanut butter gets it out if hair amazingly! Ds1 got stuck by his best mate. I googled it and watched as it worked like a charm as I squished it around the offending gum.
