From the Court Circular dated 30th September 2014:

His Royal Highness [the Duke of York] this afternoon arrived at Royal Air Force Benson, Oxfordshire, from Switzerland.

The Duke of York, Commodore-in-Chief, Fleet Air Arm, afterwards attended the 78 Squadron Disbandment and 846 Naval Air Squadron Standing-Up Parade at Royal Air Force Benson.

Which begs the question: What other form of parade could there be besides one held standing up? (Disability excluded, of course.)

We bought our latest car from the garage off the road next to raf benson, we had to wait for the floods to go down to have a test drive! We wondered how the staff got to the base from quarters that week? Waders?
