Scores 140 and 141
Our twin daughters scored 140 (138) and 141 (both papers) from Turnfurlong Junior School, Aylesbury.
1) Will they surely get into our 1st choice school (AHS)? Or there are still other parameters to consider?
2) How can I get the 'score distributution statistics'?
( Like 2% of passed candidates get >=140,
50% get <130 etc....
Just qurious to know where they stand overall)

One you have scored >=121 the next test is catchment. You will judged by distance in comparison to others that have scored >=121. Details are on the Bucks CC site.

Hi Rani
There is a graph showing the distribution of marks that is sent to parents appealing. The size of the cohort is around 7,000 and of those aproximately 250 will achieve 141. (These figures are very rough indeed!)
SVE is quite right - catchment is the first main criterion for allocation of places. In 2006 AHS offered places to girls up to 15 miles outside catchment. In 2007 every applicant was offered a place regardless of catchment and they still had 37 vacant places in September.
You should be set fair, "based on past performance". It could be different this year, but I doubt the difference would be sufficient to deny you a place if you are in catchment, at least

Wow!Sally-Anne wrote:In 2007 every applicant was offered a place regardless of catchment and they still had 37 vacant places in September.
We are >121 and out of catchment in that we currently live 45 miles from Aylesbury! We are seriously considering a move depending on the outcome of our other tests (see us in the Surrey Section).
So theorectically we could still be offered AHS even without moving?
(That would be good as we would then know our school choice had been granted before the move, but could be bad as we might get a school 45 miles away!)
Shocked

Which schools are perferrable for out of county kids who are planning to move to Bucks area?
Thanks and regards,

What a strange question. If you're planning to move to the area anyway, the fact you are currently out of county isn't significant - just move near the school you prefer.
If on the other hand, you will still be out of county when you apply, then you need to look at the grammars which often have spare places, e.g. Chesham High or Burnham.
