Can anyone advise if we should know the number of Southend in catchment that have scored above 303?

I'm not sure if 347.891 will be enough for KEGS or CRGS after last year was so high scoring :?

Last year this information was given at the post-results visit at SHSB re the number of boys. I think SHSG gave the info about the number of girls.

My son got a score of 322.778 would anyone be able to let me know what this score means and whether or not he would be able to get into west cliff boys or southend boys with this?

Thank you

I don't think the historical result guidance sheet will make much sense this year. The entire intake will depend on the number of scores above 350. What do you all think?

The standardisation process means that the historical data sheet should still be relevant. It is however only a guide and cut off scores vary from year to year. The number of scores above 350 should be similar to previous years assuming a similar number/ cohort of candidates, that is one of the reasons for standardisation.

I think that the removal of the VR paper has had an interesting impact, and quite possibly the one that the CSSE were after. My DD scores for English and Maths this year were actually higher than DS achieved 2 years ago. But her combined score much lower. DS though did quite well in the VR paper and as this was weighted to double the marks, it could be that this is what pulled his overall score up. I suspect that DD might have also done well on a separate VR paper (we will never know!) and under old exams might have had a higher overall score. What it seems to mean is the DCs who are better at English are getting appropriate weighting into the final score this year.

Don't get me wrong, I am not complaining that the papers have changed, this is purely an observation! I am certainly not taking anything away from DCs who have achieved great results in this years papers. Well done to all the children who sat the exams. Regardless of outcome, I am sure all parents are EXTREMELY PROUD of them!
