Anybody else waiting
Re: 11 + Results 10th October 2014
Hi
I'm not waiting this year but know how you feel ! I had this anxious wait back in 2012 and my DS started at Caistor Grammar Sept 2013. He has just gone into year 8!
Just wanted to pop on here and wish everyone in Lincolnshire lots of luck.
Fingers crossed your DC's get the results they are hoping for.

Hi Angie!
I was reading the posts last night from previous years and noticed yours. Seems less people around this year on this forum.
It's driving me crazy, very lucky with Caistor.
Can I ask a question, did your daughter come from a small school into a large and if do how did they manage? X

Hi Clarek852
Yes I have noticed very little activity in the Lincolnshire section this year! Not sure why but presume some of it is due to how competitive it is getting round here!
I'm happy to help in any way so feel free to ask away.
My son actually attended a rather large primary in Scunthorpe which has around 600 kids with each class having 30 kids! He is now at Caistor Grammar and was 1of 2 only to gain a place from his primary that yr! He is in yr 8 now and loving it.
What schools are you looking at for your DC and what primary are they in at the moment ?

Also Caistor is actually a small Grammar in comparison to some other and many of the secondaries as it only has around 650 kids attending from yr 7 through to yr 13 as it has a 6 th form also.
Many of the schools here have around 1000 to 1200 or more.
Hope this helps

Clarke851, my daugher also went from a small, 14 in her her group (100 kids in the entire primary) to 180 in her year group (approx 1200 in the school), this unnerved my DD but nothing too bad (she doesnt deal well with change anyhow), the worst bit for her was the bus journey, on a packed bus with loads of kids she didn't know and no 'structure', no adults to keep control. I would say it took until christmas for her to become settled and start to enjoy secondary, they are so tired too to start off with. Now she absolutely loves it and cant believe how small and 'boring' her primary seems.
Postman not here yet with 11+ results, so looks like i might be trawling through some other threads to take my mind off things. Hubby and kids are still in bed, Grrrr, how can they sleep!

Got results....oh dear, not passed. More gutted than i thought i would be, DD2 not bothered at all though as her friend didnt pass either. Surprisingly though she did better in the VR (even though she left 20-30 questions out) than she did in the NVR which is her strong subject and she regularly gets 90%+. She knew she had done bad in the VR but said she thought she would get high enough in the NVR to pull the score up, you can imagine our shock when her VR score was higher . At a bit of a loss really, i think i need to ask them to check the NVR score just for my peace of mind, even if it doesnt bring it up to the pass rate, at the moment i just cant make sence of it.

We are also waiting but it doesn't seem as though we will get them today. Will have to wait until Monday. Some of my sons friends do have their results. It should be done online.x

Yes i think so too, what really irritates me is that the preimary schools get emailed the results on the Friday, a day before we get them. Can i ask Till, whats the concencus of pass/fail at your end, i am just so confused by my DDs nvr score.xx
