Freedom of Information Request for Distribution of Scores...

Post by Boggins' Dad »

There was talk on one of the threads about such a request being made to obtain the anonymised scores to better understand where our children’s results fell in the c. 30k who took the test.

Has anyone made such a request? If not happy to do so and share here but not sure how one would undertake such a thing.

As an idea, this was one of the request for last year's data:

1) Number or percentage of children on each mark for each section, broken
down by boys and girls and in county/ out of county. 2) The pass mark for
each paper or section, and overall pass mark. 3) Any data on how this is
related to the raw scores for a child aged 11 years 0 months and a child aged
10 years 1 month.

Not that this information would help you, but here are some other requests:

Please could you provide a complete list of results for the Kent Test (11+) for
2013 for year 7 entry in 2014 broken down by primary/prep school. Please
provide the number in year 6, the number that sat the test, the number
assessed as suitable for grammar school, the number that achieved 90%, the
number that achieved 95%, the number that achieved the maximum score and
the LCTB For each school.

How long would it take to get this information, presumably not in time for the CAF deadline?

If you apply by email today you have a chance of getting it in time, especially if you are filling in the Kent CAF. Off the top of my head those questions took 14 days to answer, but it might have been less. I think they have 21 days, but typically come back faster.

Update. Happened to be in Maidstone today on business so popped into County Hall and spoke to a helpful lady from admissions who shared what she could on the schools of interest to us for DS.

I asked about this data and she wasn't sure if it could be easily obtained by herself or the admissions team (she wasn't being obstructive IMHO)

So have submitted a request for the numbers of (1) Boys and (2) Girls attaining each distinct score in the test...

Will see how long it takes to obtain!
