How to prioritise schools in filling CAF

Post by Skg »

My daughter has qualified for both Slough and Buckinghamshire. The scores are slightly more than the qualifying score. Can someone please guide me how to select/prioritise the schools in the CAF ?

We are also OOC for Buckinghamshire and Herschel grammar school.

The simple answer - anywhere - is that you put schools on your CAF in your true order of preference. If you don't qualify for a place at your first option, your second-ranked school becomes your first and so on down your list.

You do need to make sure that you have at least one 'safe bet' on there, though, especially if your higher preferences are 'risky'.

The score, once qualified, is irrelevant in Bucks.

Look at Sally-Anne's historic allocation profiles to see which Bucks schools are in range and might offer the possibility of a place.
