Boston Federation of Grammar Schools not part of consortium

Post by bgbubba »

Please could you advise what 'difference' there is now that Boston Federation Of Grammar Schools is no longer part of the consortium, do they have a different pass rate and how does their admissions criteria differ if at all?

I would ring them and ask. Schools are usually very helpful.

Thank you for that. It's just that it states the Boston grammar schools federation uses the same tests as the consortium but has adopted a modified set of selection criteria, just wondered what this really meant?

Boston changed the selection process a few years ago. I am told that, basically they do not standardise the results and take the lowest raw mark which would get a pass when standardised and make that the pass mark. When they give out the results they tell candidates whether they have reached the required standard for the Consortium schools as well.
