School travel from Reading to Royal Grammar School
My son is applying in Royal Grammar School/ JHGS in High Wycombe. We live in Reading. We are exploring the school travel options.
Not sure whether any private coach or taxis (sharing) is already operating from Reading to High Wycombe.
Any ideas, please share. If you are aware of any means of transport operating, please inform.
Thanks for reading.

When you say 'is in' do you mean he is in Year 7?
Re: School travel from Reading to Royal Grammar School
What a strange journey, unless you are intending to move to High Wycombe as soon as possible?
You can do it on the train in less than 2 hours without going into London and back out again, though, but quicker (just) via Paddington and Marylebone.

OP, (from memory) arriva buses 800/850 run between High Wycombe and Reading. You may want to check for exact stops/distance and time for your destinations on arriva website.

Same question I also want to ask .Guest55 wrote:When you say 'is in' do you mean he is in Year 7?
Also it means that though you are still in Reading but you could still get a place a RGS HW, which means whoever qualified abaove 121 and put RGS in the CAF form first preference or so got a seat that year. That's great. Would like to know was it for 2014 entry or some other year

If it is for 11+ entry then he is too far away to get a place which I why I asked for clarification ...

It depends on the precise distance, but if this is for Y7, he might just have got a place last year, and also in 2011, when the school went to All Offered.Guest55 wrote:If it is for 11+ entry then he is too far away to get a place which I why I asked for clarification ...

Your current address will be used for allocation of places in March and there is a low probability that you will be successful.
As Sally-Anne says, places don't usually go as far as Reading.
What other schools are you naming on the CAF?
I would not recommend such a journey. High Wycombe frequently becomes one complete traffic jam.
