Re: Maths Question please
Look at (b) again - how long is it to midnight? A number line might help.
19:57 ........................... 00:00 .......................... 06:45
19:57 ........................... 00:00 .......................... 06:45
Re: Maths Question please
round up and round down to the nearest whole hour, then add on the minutes used for the rounding
for instance, 1957 is 2000 (with 3 mins used for rounding)
2107 is 2100 using 7 minutes for rounding down
so its a total of 1 hr and 10 minutes (7+3, from the rounding)

Re: Maths Question please
Please help with how to work this out .
not sure why i can't copy and paste diagrams onto this forum. would make life so much easier for people that are helping .
Ok this one is Nos 26 of the Channing School 11+ sample papers
http://www.channing.co.uk/fileadmin/con ... r_2011.pdf" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
but heres the question without a diagram.
This shape has an area of 63cm2.
it is made from square tiles .
Find the perimeter of the shape.
any ideas please?how do we derive the perimeter from just telling us that the area is 63?
Thank you

Re: Maths Question please
The question about Janice is correct ... (compare that with the other one we did)
There are 7 equal squares so what is the area of each square?
Once you know that, then you can work out the side length of each square and hence the perimeter.
Get back to me if the hint is not enough help.

Re: Maths Question please
ok so area of each square is 63/7 =9
perimeter of each square will be 4x side = 4x3 = 12
perimeter of all squares = 12 x7 = 84...
hmmn am not convinced at my working though . is this correct?
