GCSE dilema

Post by zvrk »

My son is thinking of Food Technology or ICT as his options GCSE.

He has chosen 9 academic subject -2 English, Maths (+ Further Maths ), 3 sciences, French, Latin and Geography. (History as reserve- not so keen on it).
He is very academic but it's keen to choose something different for his 10 th subject. He enjoys cooking ,but is a fussy eater, does that matter in tasting part of GCSE? (is there such a thing). I have read in some other topics that ICT is not so well regarded.
Thank you for your help.

Not ICT. Food is a good option, though.

Have a search for previous threads about Food Tech and check the web site got the exam board he will be sitting so you and he are clear about what is required.
Being a fussy eater is neither here not there but yes they do need to analyse their work!

DG - Food is DT! Design Technology has various options - food, graphics, resistant materials and textiles ...
