Catchment area for Gainsborough

Post by Doncaster11 »

My girl passed the test but we just found out she was not offered a place. We live in Doncaster and I assume we are just to far away. Can anyone tell me what the radius was this year? She is heartbrooken. Can we appeal?

I know someone from Tickhill who didn't get in, but someone from Bawtry who did. That might give you an idea of radius, in fairness, except last year, Doncaster at 20 miles has never been in radius unless you have moved temporarily. Re appeals, I would look at the appeals section.

Last place offered was 13.266 miles. Once you have had a read of the appeals section, if you need any help there is a wealth of advice on here. Good luck Sx

They logged onto notts cc or doncaster website and went into their applications and it will say 'place offered'

Missed out by 0.4 miles. Hoping for the waiting list.

I would email the school and get your position on the reserve list, because whilst 0.4 is really close, if you look at the sticky at the top (I got some data using FOI) in 2010/11 there were about 11 people all between 13.3-13.8 miles.

Dedoc,

We live in Bawtry and my DS has been accepted. We found out on the Doncaster admissions website. It appears that the emails that should have gone out at 8:30 today have been delayed as I have yet to receive one.

Fingers crossed for you.

Stocky,

Where did you find out the last place offered information?

From a friend whose DD missed out, she emailed the school direct this morning.
